Univision Communications announced the appointment of Raul Rodriguez as VP and general manager of Univision San Francisco.Rodriguez will oversee local news, programming, advertising sales, marketing, on-air promotion and community relations for Univisions local Radio and TV stations as well as interactive platforms in the market. Based out of San Francisco, he will report to Luis Patiño, SVP of Univision Television Group, and Peter M. Moore, SVP and Western regional manager of Univision Radio.Before joining Univision, Rodriguez served as general manager and VP of Journal Communications where he managed three TV stations and produced daily news. He was director of Hispanic Sales for News Press & Gazette, where he was responsible for the company’s Hispanic assets, including six TV stations and one radio station, for which he developed marketing and programming. Rodriguez’ over 15 years of experience in the broadcast industry also includes serving as general manager and VP of Telemundos Independent station in LA and as general sales manager for Telemundos San Francisco Bay Area stations. A graduate of the University of Southern California, Rodriguez holds a bachelor’s of science degree in Business Administration.
