The free (AVOD) tier of the ViX platform will offer 40,000 hours of content, with more than 100 specially created channels with television-quality content and live programming. It will have an electronic program guide (EPG).

The success of the AVOD Prende TV service, launched last year, was the basis for the release of the new platform, explained Rafael Urbina, EVP and general manager of ViX AVOD. With the launch of ViX, the other OTT platforms of the TelevisaUnivision group -Blim TV in Mexico and Prende TV in the US- will disappear, and their audiences will be absorbed by the new ViX.

ViX will offer Televisa’s classic telenovelas and hits, alliances with some of the best producers in the world, from Colombia to Turkey, scripted and unscripted series, Hollywood, independent and Latin American movies, all in Spanish and with less ads than traditional TV.

Among the ViX channels some will be news-devoted such as Noticias Univision 24/7 and the new streaming channel of Noticieros Televisa; sports-devoted like the new Zona TUDN with sports news, talk shows, analysis, commentary and exclusive interviews and beIN SPORTS XTRA in Spanish. It will also include Moonbug Kids (children’s channel) and the new channel The Derbez Channel.

Spaces such as Algo personal with Jorge Ramos, will debut on Noticias Univision 24/7.

In Mexico, both ViX and ViX+ will offer complete coverage of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, with 40 matches live, 30 on ViX and 10 that will only be seen on ViX+, with content related to the tournament and extensive coverage from Mexico and Qatar to through the sports channel, Zona TUDN.
