Juan Luis Cebrian was founder of El Pais with Jesus Polanco in 1976
Prisa, one of the largest media companies in the Hispanic world, and also partner of Vme network in the U.S., has made official the appointment of Juan Luis Cebrian as executive president. Ignacio Polanco, whom Cebrian will replace, also announced that Cebrians former position of delegate advisor will be filled by Fernando Abril-Martorell and VP will be Manuel Polanco Moreno. Ignacio Polanco explained that after the decease of Jesus Polanco about five years ago, a new stage of transition arose that now culminates with these announced changes. My principal objective is to achieve definite stability for the group, maintain its public institutionalization, and to prepare the basis of ulterior development, once we handle the excessive debt that we have said Cebrian when he assumed presidency.Cabrian, born in Madrid in 1944, was the founder of El Pais with Jesus Polanco in 1976. Since, he has stayed bonded with Prisa, filling multiple positions within the administration.
