Telemundo is adapting Pobre Gallo, a teleseries by Mega de Chile that is currently one of the programs with largest audiences in the country. Telemundo already made a version of another Mega teleseries: Pituca sin Lucas, titled Silvana sin Lana, that will debut in US Hispanic on July 19th at 8pm.All this makes us very proud and is part of the plan to internationalize the contents that Mega produces. We aim to turn into the biggest and most creative content company in the South Pacific, pointed out Patricio Hernández, executive director of Mega. The goal is to distribute contents internationally and also in a digital manner. The Mega Digital plan aims for the audience to be able to consume Mega contents in an analogue way, à la carte and through what we call the third script for social networks, mentioned Hernández. Through their website with catch up, Mega has added an important amount of native digital audience. People are not seeing us on open broadcast TV but on our website they are, and in significant amounts. It is a clear indicator that there is free-access non-linear consumption and that the contents are valued. We could start thinking about developing an OTT, probably in a partnership.
