Sci-Fi drama Star-Crossed formerly known as Oxygen was officially picked up to series by The CW. CBS TV is the studio with Olé and Powwow producing.Written by Meredith Averill and directed by Gary Fleder, Star-Crossed will be one of the new sci-fi vehicles that The CW will be announcing during its upfront presentation on May 16th in New York. The series will co-star Aimee Teegarden (Friday Night Lights) and Matt Lanter (90210). Star-Crossed executive producers will be Josh Appelbaum & Andre Nemec, Scott Rosenberg, Meredith Averill, Richard Shepard, Bryan Furst, Sean Furst, and Daniel Gutman. Star-Crossed is a dramatic series based on a Spanish format, set against a high school pilot program, which is the first attempt to integrate humanoid aliens who are stranded on planet Earth. Prior to the program, the aliens have been living under forced segregation. The program is challenged by discrimination, mistrust and political agendas and could be saved or destroyed by a burgeoning romance between a human girl and alien boy.The creation of this sci-fi format is the first outcome of the agreement that Isla Producciones and 360 Powwow have established for co-developing scripted projects for the US market.
