Mujeres Extraordinarias (eight episodes), the first WAWA production, is expected to be ready for the first quarter of 2021. They have already closed agreements with screens for its broadcast.

The project was born in the middle of the lockdown to fulfill one of the association´s goals: to start their first production in 2020. Carolina Cordero and María Eugenia Muci, members of the WAWA Production Committee, designed this series that will present in each one of its eight episodes two women from different parts of the world who dedicate their lives to benefit other people.

They started working in April and the vast majority of the 16 interviews being shot in 16 cities, 12 countries, and 4 continents are ready. Before choosing the protagonists, the agreed-upon themes (migration, child labor, education, environment, human rights, human trafficking) and throughout the research process, they came across unknown women who helped others. The series emphasizes the characters, it is an encouraging project of human quality.

“OTTs are looking for female protagonists who are moving forward and Mujeres Extraordinarias is the living example of this in real life,” said María Eugenia Muci.

Carolina Cordero added that the idea was for Mujeres Extraordinarias to be the first of many WAWA projects and commented: “For this first project we thought about women, but we are also thinking about looking for men who do the same thing. Good people must be made known”.
