Ivette Méndez-Kelly: We are in the process of developing new market strategies to reach all of the members of NCTC

Ivette Méndez-Kelly, Vice President of Sales and Distribution for Olympusats Hispanic Networks, mentioned to PRODU some of the distribution agreements they have signed for the various signals that make up the Hispanic package of Olympusat.Their signal Momentum, based out of Mexico City, was included in all general agreements signed with US cable operators. Méndez indicated they have already launched on Insight Communications. Until now, Momentum had only been carried by Cablevision in New York.Other launches include Cox Communications and Claro Puerto Rico, for the channels LaTele Novela and Sorpresa.Hispanic signals also saw the debut of the new on-air look of TV Chile as well as the updating of their programming for Hispanic audiences. Méndez pointed out that all of the channels programming is being produced in high definition.When asked about the relationship between Olympusat and small- and medium-size cable operators affiliated to the NCTC, Méndez said one of the greatest challenges is to convey to these systems the benefits of carrying Hispanic channels.
