NuevOn: We reached 100 million views and will export formats for TV

This is Restart one of the most popular shows on the digital channel

NuevOn, the YouTube channel aimed at young Hispanics, reached over 100 million views in over 100 countries. With this, it positions itself as the leading Hispanic youth channel licensed by Google, with greatest demand in the U.S. and Mexico, told PRODU the channel’s executive producer Elizabeth Grey.Starting on April 16th, the channel’s second anniversary, NuevOn will begin exporting formats for television. “We’re talking to several networks and, although the negotiations are confidential, I can disclose one of the formats is Clonados,” said Grey.Previously unknown talent has also transitioned to TV thanks to NuevOn. Such is the case of María Ávila, currently on Telemundo’s La Otra Piel; William Valdés, currently Univisión’s digital image for Despierta América; Ivanna Rodríguez, now on mun2; and Colibritany, who auditioned for the film Don’t Mess with Texas, starring Sofía Vergara and Reese Witherspoon.NuevOn was one of the 10 Spanish-language channels financed by Google, and the only one renewed for a second round of financing. Its audience is composed mainly of females 13-24. Of the channel’s 22 shows, some of the most popular include Colibritany, La Isla Presidencial, Restart, Look, Losbro, and Mi Vida con Toty, which stars Manolo González, son of Sofía Vergara.NuevON was created by Latin World Entertainment in association with Electus.
