Nielsen promotes Mónica Gil to senior vice president and general manager of Nielsens new Multicultural Growth and Strategy team, effective immediately. Multicultural Growth and Strategy is a part of Nielsens External Affairs group and will drive business growth by providing market understanding and delivering comprehensive strategies to reach multicultural consumers.We are pleased to have Mónica lead this key effort in cultivating and measuring the evolving consumer strength of African-American, Asian American and Hispanic groups in the U.S., said Karen Kornbluh, EVP, External Affairs, Nielsen. She will focus on crafting innovative approaches to multicultural intelligence that will yield actionable solutions for clients and industry forums. She will also oversee the continued development of Nielsens Diverse Intelligence Series, a sequence of reports that provide marketers a closer look at todays increasingly multicultural population.Gil will also work closely with Nielsens data and measurement sciences to help strengthen the companys competency in ethnic segment research.Gil joined Nielsen in 2004 and most recently served as senior vice president, Public Affairs and Government Relations.
