Executives of the streaming giant, who were expected subscription growth in the second quarter of the year not to exceed 8 million, announced that they registered 10.1 million subscriptions for the period between April and June 2020.
With these new additions to the platform, Netflix increased its global subscribers base to more than 193 million. Likewise, they mentioned that they were expecting this trend to decrease, and forecasted 2.5 million new subscribers for the third quarter of the year.
Multiple financial analysts had this figure of around 10 million among their estimations, and are waiting for the financial results of the second quarter, which will be announced in the next few days.
Netflix´s shares continue to rise; on the market July 16, they closed in positive, US$4.13 above the closing of the previous day, reaching a value per share of US$527.39.
