NBCUniversal: There is no better moment than now in the company´s history

Cesar Conde de Telemundo Upfronts 2018

During Telemundo´s Upfront party in Nueva York, César Conde, Chairman of NBCUniversal International Group and NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, gave a speech highlighting three things:

“The first is that we come from a historical 2017 for Telemundo, in which, for the first time in 30 years of history of television in Spanish, it became the number one network in primetime during the week.” He mentioned that they have been number one in the south after 10 pm, also expanding their leadership in digital.

The second is about Telemundo´s success, which they owe to the fact that “we are innovators, pioneers in our industry. We, Telemundo, have a consistent investment and are constantly innovating to redefine Hispanic media” and he emphasized the recently inaugurated Telemundo Center. Likewise, he pointed out that it is also due to their progressive partnerships with companies such as Youtube and Twitter, as well as the recent agreement with Hulu and with E!.

The third is about the future and collective partnership, in which he mentioned how the Hispanic community and market is evolving from being a simple demographic segment to become an important part of the economy, which is why they will continue innovating and investing in them to grow.

The presentation was accompanied by programming videos depicting Superseries like El Señor De Los Cielos, a production that Conde reminded the audience had launched number one in its slot. The writer of this production, Luis Zelkowicz, mentioned that they are approaching 600 hours of production. They projected other famous productions, and the new ones they have, such as Betty in NY, El Recluso, and Prisionero Número Uno.

The presentation also included a private concert of the Colombian singer J Balvin.
