Over the past year this initiative has provided key resources and information to more than eight million Hispanics through on-the-ground events across the country
NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises celebrated the first-year anniversary of its corporate social responsibility initiative, El Poder En Ti (The Power in You). Recognizing the issues that matter the most to Hispanics in America, El Poder En Ti empowers viewers to take positive actions in critical areas of personal growth including education, health, finance and civic engagement.
Knowing that educational advancement and financial well-being of Latinos is critical to the overall success of our national economy, over the past year El Poder En Ti has provided key resources and information to more than eight million Hispanics through on-the-ground events across the country.
In addition, NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises has leveraged the power of its digital platforms to engage and empower what it refers to as Generation M – Mobile, Millennial and Multicultural Latinos – through digital tools and daily updates on El Poder En Ti Facebook, Instagram and elpoderenti.com, reaching over 35 million people on social media.
Led by international Spanish-language television icon Don Francisco, and starring some of Telemundo’s most recognized on-air talent, El Poder En Ti launched a series of public service announcements that reached tens of millions of viewers with empowering, life-changing and inspirational stories. In addition, as the largest producer of original Spanish-language content in the US, the company consistently addresses social issues in its entertainment and news content to increase awareness and provide critical information to its viewers.
“As a world-class media company, Telemundo has the privilege of reaching millions of Hispanics through our multi-platform portfolio. With that comes a great responsibility to give back to the community and empower our viewers to thrive. We are extremely proud of what El Poder En Ti has done for our community in its first year and are doubling down in our efforts to help Hispanics live a better life by unleashing the power within them,” said César Conde, Chairman of NBCUniversal International Group and NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises.
