The finale of Big Cat Week, Guerra de Leones, documents lions in Africas Tanzania's Ruaha National Park
In an effort to showcase the worlds large cat species, Nat Geo Mundo, the US Hispanic extension of the National Geographic Society, announces Big Cat Week. The specials premiere Monday, Feb. 20 at 10pm and feature stories about natures felines and the people that work to save them. Puma Americano, which focuses on a pair of cougars struggling to survive in the Rocky Mountains, airs Feb. 20 at 10pm. El Rescate de las Panteras features two 6-week-old clouded leopard cubs that are rescued from poachers and airs on Feb. 21 at 10pm. En Busca del Jaguar follows the Panthera Jaguar Program on a mission to capture and film Jaguars in Belize. The program airs on Feb. 22 at 10pm. Felinos en Guerra: León vs. Guepardo makes sense of an act of violence caught on tape between three cheetahs and two lions, and airs Feb. 23 at 10pm. As the finale of Big Cat Week is Guerra de Leones, which documents lions in Africas Tanzania’s Ruaha National Park, airs on Feb. 24 at 10pm.
