Producer, director and writer, Patricia Arriaga
Her experience as producer, director and writer -recently on historical projects-, allows Patricia Arriaga to bring to Mexican television projects like Réquiem Por Leona Vicario. It recently premiered on Canal Once, which is also producing the childrens series Kin (13×30), based on Mayan culture. She also reunited with Discovery for the production of a documentary based on the story of Porfirio Díaz.In an interview with PRODU, Arriaga said that Kin is a drama series for children, which follows all the rules of adult TV, but focuses on kids between 10 and 14 years of age, where we deal with the subject of bullying in relation with the tradition of Mexican ghosts. Its based on the real Mayan story that has as one of its main characters Pakal, the boy who became the biggest ruler of that culture. The series is set to premiere in early 2015 and features locations in Palenque, Las Estacas and Mexico City. Gerardo Tort directed it.In addition to this project, Arriaga is in the research stage for the production of the documentary about Mexican ex-president Porfirio Díaz. It is being produced for Discovery. It focused on the question of whether his body should be returned to Mexico from Paris, where it currently lies; and on whether he was a hero or a traitor, said Arriaga.She also said to be working with an independent French production house on a series about the life of photographer Tina Modotti.
