Flavio Morales, senior VP of Programming and Production at mun2 spoke with PRODU about the plans the company has for 2013, in which the Mexican series La Teniente, produced by Azteca, will become key for its programming, and reinforce the company’s search for new formats for Hispanic television. “We always look for content that reflects the new Latino, and when we got the opportunity to see La teniente, we got excited with the idea of taking it to our screen. It’s going to be interesting because it will complement our programming, and it’s content that reaches the Latino audience in the U.S. perfectly. La Teniente falls in really well with our plans for 2013,” the executive said. Morales assured that the signal is in constant search of new content, taking risks and not only finding the content that is already expected on TV: “Currently there’s a lot of competition for audience, and it’s a constant job to find content, formulas and formats. Because of that, with La Teniente, we’re taking a risk, and also working on the original promotional campaign along with Azteca, as well as original production with the internal team of mun2”. Although in Mexico La Teniente finished and the filming for a second season was announced, the show will air on mun2 within the first months of 2013.
