WAPA Television has signed an agreement with Miguel Cotto Promotions to present the new season of Boxeo Boricua (Puerto Rican Boxing) exclusively in the U.S. on WAPA América, the stations sister cable network distributed on all major cable, satellite and telco providers. The series kicks off on Sunday, February 2, 2014.Produced by world champion Miguel Cottos production company, Boxeo Boricua is a series of regional boxing events across Puerto Rico that serves as a platform for young Puerto Rican fighters to launch their boxing careers, while seeking out new world champions. The first match will air on Sunday, February 2, in the Roger Mendoza Coliseum in Caguas, where Eduardo Sasso López and Miguel Mikito Soto will face off in an 8-round bout to become the new CABOFE Junior Lightweight champion, a regional title recognized by the World Boxing Council.
