Beethoven 2020 Mezzo
THEMA America, a Canal+ group company, announced that Mezzo Live HD is launching its Beethoven Year to mark the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth.
Each month, Mezzo will dedicate an exceptional live broadcast, reference archives, and of course multiple concerts and interviews with well-known musicians, to Ludwig van Beethoven and his work.
In addition, as a Mezzo Live HD exclusive, Beethoven’s symphonies will be introduced by Yannick Nézet-Séguin. The young Canadian conductor, musical director of the Metropolitan Opera in New York and the Philadelphia Orchestra, will present each of Beethoven’s symphonies in short interviews presented exclusively by Mezzo Live HD.
Each year MEZZO acquires the rights of 150 new opera, concert and ballet performances – nearly one every two days, including around 40 live events – mainly co-produced, creating its current portfolio of more than 700 programs.
