At the 11th Annual Hispanic TV Summit in New York, Melinda Witmer, EVP and Chief Video and Content Officer of Time Warner Cable, received the Leadership in Hispanic TV award, while María Elena Salinas, co-host of Noticias Univisión and Aquí y Ahora, received the Hispanic TV Extraordinary Achievement award.During her acceptance speech, Witmer highlighted the companys two Spanish-language programming initiatives: channel NY1 Noticias, which has been on the air for over a decade, and Time Warner Cable Deportes, the first Spanish-language regional sports channel, which reached its first anniversary on October 10th. This award validates all the hard work trying to connect the audience with our products, said Witmer.Univisións María Elena Salinas, a 32-year veteran of U.S. Hispanic media, said during her acceptance speech that she understood the importance of Hispanic audiences early in her career.
