Luis Silberwasser, president of Telemundo Network
Its a tough challenge because we have formidable competitors, but Telemundos success is within reach, and thats why Im analyzing department by department to see how we can improve, what we can do to offer a different approach to the Hispanic audience. We have to offer something different to what the other side is offering in order to see significant growth in our audience, told PRODU Luis Silberwasser, president of Telemundo Network.50 days after joining the company, Silberwasser said he was learning about the people and where things are. He visited Mexico to see what Argos is producing for the network and was satisfied with what he saw and with the alignment between the creative and production teams. Its a long-standing relationship and I believe it will go on for many more years because its very productive, he said.Regarding whether Telemundo will produce again in Colombia, he said it was too soon to tell because he just started analyzing the production area. Silberwasser said he was open to any country with talent and production know-how, as is the case of Colombia, where he has great relationship in the TV industry, but also Chile and other countries that have pitched stories and projects. He said the edgier and more action-packed super series at 10pm were performing well, so much so that they were beating the competition in that time slot. Silberwasser also spoke about the Sunday primetime strategy of family-oriented realities and said that he would attend the upcoming Mipcom to purchase more formats for Sundays and daytime.
