Luis Balaguer, now Hollywood producer: Studios increasingly willing to work with Hispanic talent

Luis Balaguer, CEO and co-founder of Latin World Entertainment (LatinWe), debuts as Hollywood executive producer alongside Academy Award winner actress Reese Witherspoon. He will produce the film Don’t Mess with Texas, starring Sofía Vergara and Reese Witherspoon.“It’s a pleasure to see more Hollywood studios willing to work with Hispanic producers and talent,” said Balaguer.David Feeney and John Quaintance wrote the screenplay of this romantic comedy and Anne Fletcher (Step Up, 27 Dresses, The Proposal) will direct it. It will be produced by MGM and distributed by Universal Pictures. Shooting will take place over eight weeks between May and June.
