Lemon Films producer and director, Fernando Rovzar, spoke with PRODU about the production of the second season of Paramédicos for Canal Once, its entry in the U.S. and Latin America through Mundo FOX, as well as the plans to produce a Mexican version of Saturday Night Live, which could air on Televisa.“We’re writing the second season of Paramédicos. We will start shooting next year and the airdate will depend on the channel, but it will probably be around September. We have new characters and we are changing the role of the paramedics a bit to get them out of their comfort zone. Some storylines with grow and others will be reduced,” said Rovzar. He said to be satisfied with the success of the first season, currently airing in the U.S. on Mundo FOX, and announced that in mid-2014 it will start airing throughout Latin America, “which will time perfectly with the launch of the second season.”Rovzar said the company is preparing the pilot for Televisa of the Mexican version of Saturday Night Live, where they want to do something different. “They offered us scripts for the sketches done since 1975, but we declined because we believe in this country there is enough comedy and talent to do Mexican satire that is good, intelligent and different. We’re already producing the pilot and are having talks with Televisa,” he added. He said NBCUniversal is consulting on the project through SNLcast member Horacio Sanz. There was an audition with 500 participants, out of which 12 were selected. Finally, Rovzar said they are still waiting on HBO to confirm if it’s bringing back Señor Ávila to resume the project.
