Diego Maradona Copa
LatinWE and Dhana Media are already working on the docuseries about Diego Maradona, who died in November, which will have exclusive footage and testimonies of the former player’s family. Mari Urdaneta and Liliana Moyano will serve as executive producers for Dhana, with Luis Balaguer as executive producer on behalf of Latin World Entertainment. John Pollak will be responsible for its global distribution.
Alejandro Hartmann (Carmel: Quién Mató a María Marta, from Netflix) will the documentary director, which will feature never-before-seen tales of Maradona’s life from the first-hand experiences of his family, and his friend, manager and confidant, Matías Morla, Maradona’s property manager. The project will be shot in several cities around the world, where the soccer star lived.
“No one can imagine all that we went through behind closed doors and the battles we privately had to overcome. This is a sensitive issue. I fully trust Mari from Dhana Media to tell the truth of everything we experience with transparency and heart. Above all, I trust that you will find a balance between speculation, controversy, and the reality lived by those few who had the honor of being by Diego’s side,” said Morla.
