Latino Media Fest Inclusion

The first day of the Latino Media Fest began with a keynote shared by Liliana Espinoza, director of Projects at NALIP; Salvador Mendoza, VP of Diversity & Inclusion at NBCUniversal, and Margie Moreno, Head of LatAm YouTube Originals,

Mendoza said that this type of events evolve to be successful “in our communities and offer a place where established and aspiring creatives come together.”

For Moreno, now more than ever, it is imperative for us “to be more united as a community with our allies to continue promoting change in the industry.”

The agenda included the presentation: #WeAreInclusion: Allies in a conversation When one of us wins, we all win in achieving a more inclusive industry!.

In this talk, José Antonio Tijarino, president and CEO of the Hispanic Heritage Foundation, talked about the importance of the work that is being carried out so that the Latino community is represented in the industry. While (Liliana) Espinoza de Nalip believes that the new generations of Latinos are using more platforms, are storytellers and it is easier for them to display their content. Bing Chen, Chairman of Gold House, added that Latinx and Asians are the communities in the US that go to the movies the most.
