Univision Communications Inc. appointed Larry Sands to regional vice president of Univision Chicago. He will continue to serve as the president of Univision Puerto Rico and oversee all operations in both markets. Sands will be based out of Chicago and continue to report directly to Kevin Cuddihy, president of the Univision Television Group. Malule González, vice president/station manager, Univision Puerto Rico, will oversee day to day operations at the station.Larry is passionate about our industry and most importantly about our role in serving the Hispanic community. He has been a driving force behind the success of our station in Puerto Rico and spearheaded a revamp of programming, community service initiatives and the construction of a new broadcasting facility. We know his leadership will help propel Univision Chicago to the next level, said Cuddihy.Prior to his arrival at Univision Puerto Rico in 2002, Sands served in a variety of sales and management capacities at several Univision affiliate stations including those in Sacramento and Phoenix. He also worked with other television and radio stations in California, Washington D.C., North Carolina and Virginia.
