Klaudia Bermúdez joins NBCUniversal as SVP & general manager, Latin America for Universal Networks International

The international channels division of NBCUniversal announced Klaudia Bermúdez will join the company as SVP & general manager, Latin America for Universal Networks International (UNI).Bermúdez will drive growth opportunities for UNI’s portfolio of channels in Latin America, reporting to Ken Bettsteller, managing director, Latin America, NBCUniversal International Television. Bermúdez’ appointment is effective from June 2 and she will be based in Miami, Florida. “We are thrilled that Klaudia is joining NBCUniversal International Television’s growing team for Latin America. Her track record, extensive relationships and strategic vision will enable us to continue to capitalize on the dynamic opportunities across the region as we focus on further growth,” commented Bettsteller. As managing director, Latin America, Bettsteller’s oversight of NBCUniversal’s channels and distribution businesses across the region reflect the company’s strategy to integrate its portfolio of television assets in a more holistic way for key growth markets. In addition to Bermúdez’ ownership of the UNI portfolio in Latin America, Bettsteller is supported by María Sánchez who joined the team in Miami in October 2013 to run content distribution as senior vice president, Sales Liaison. Bermúdez will be responsible for managing all day-to-day activity of UNI’s channel business across Latin America, in which it currently operates Universal Channel, Syfy and Studio Universal. The company also has a JV for its regional Latin American E! Entertainment Television channel. Additionally, in Brazil, NBCUniversal operates a JV with Globosat for Universal Channel, Syfy and Studio Universal.Bermúdez added: “NBCUniversal is a company with a strong vision and is very focused on investing in Latin America.
