KABO International: For NATPE we will boost the formats Ciao Darwin and Who’s Who?

Among the main entertainment formats that KABO International will be offering in NATPE are Ciao Darwin (75×120’, also available in 60’ and 90’) produced by R.T.I. Mediaset. In each episode there is a competition between two categories comprised by 50 people each. Each group has a captain. The captains are celebrities who are stereotyped opposites, such as husbands vs. wives, thin vs. fat, young vs. old. Another key title is the gameshow Who’s Who? (for primetime), produced by Rose Bay Media, in which three contestants must guess the unique occupation, talent or hobby of six strangers through a series of questions and answers, challenges or actings. They also have the scripted comedy formats Our Crazy Family (170×30’) -produced by KABO Family- and the entertainment show for prime time Best Host Ever (60’ or 120’). Arabelle Pouliot-Di Crescenzo, Managing Director of KABO International, told PRODU that before international sales, each format is prepared in detail. “With Our Crazy Family it was mandatory for us to have detailed specifications for the casting and the character description, the format guide, technical production guide, and an Excel sheet showing how to build the format using 3,500 existing scripts. Bearing this in mind, we identify the producing or broadcasting partner in each territory. It is important to offer consultations”.She highlighted that strong entertainment formats for prime time are the most requested. “That is why we are focused on Who’s Who? and Chiao Darwin for Natpe”.“We are actively working to find and create formats that appeal to audiences’ new viewing habits. KABO has reinvented the sitcom with its Pick’n Mix format, which is comprised of individual scenes of approximately 1 to 2 minutes in length that can be assembled in any order to create a program. These short scenes can easily be broadcast on any device and correspond to audiences’ current viewing habits and have been proven to attract new and young audiences,” she adds. She ended saying that the Latin American countries where they are performing best are Mexico, Colombia, Argentina and Chile.
