NCTC (National Cable Television Cooperative) announced that Jeffrey L. Abbas, President and CEO, has resigned effective immediately to pursue other opportunities. Abbas has led the NCTC since November of 2005. During Abbas tenure, NCTC experienced significant growth. It has been my great privilege to be a part of NCTC for the past 14 years as a member, director, staff member, and president & CEO. I want to thank the board of directors for the opportunity to work with the very talented and capable NCTC staff in our mission to serve the needs of independent cable operators. I wish all of them the best of success in meeting the challenges that lie ahead, said Abbas.Edward T. Holleran Jr., NCTC chairman and president/COO of NCTC member company Atlantic Broadband, will lead the search for Abbas replacement. Jeff has served NCTC admirably over his eight years with the company, including the past five years as president and CEO. We wish him well as he pursues other opportunities, noted Holleran.Tom Gleason, EVP of NewWave Communications and former NCTC board chairman, will serve as interim CEO while the search for a new NCTC CEO is under way.
