Isla Audiovisual and their partner in the US 360 Powwow reached an agreement with Captivate Entertainment to adapt and co-produce the original format Rabia, the series that Isla produces for Mediaset Spain.Rabia is a dramatic series whose narrative axis lies on a group of fugitives who, time after receiving in a clandestine manner a special treatment to save their lives, are affected by a virus that makes them extremely violent. This circumstance forces them to live hidden away, to escape authorities and to struggle in the aim to find a possible cure.Rabia joins the list of Isla Audiovisual’s fiction formats that Powwow has commercialized in the U.S., such as the adaptation of Star Crossed, coproduction already made for the CW network, and Blood Matters, whose coproduction will soon be announced. Captivate Entertainment, based in Los Angeles, has an agreement with Universal Studios. It is formed by Jeffrey Weiner and Ben Smith, and has a broad catalogue of developments for TV and film that include the sage The Bourne Legacy, starring Matt Damon. Víctor García, Isla Audiovisual CEO, said, “I am proud to collaborate with the talented team of Captivate to coproduce Rabia in the U.S. The agreement shows the international potential of Isla’s formats.
