Óscar López, executive VP at Imagina US
Óscar López, executive VP at Imagina US, said they already have six fiction projects in Latin America, ready to start being developed.
“Durante 2016 we were dedicated to searching for interesting ideas and partners and for this year we already have six projects that we will gradually announce as we close the deals,” he explained, after mentioning that the group seeks to invest in content in this side of the world. “We have launched the content creation line more than the production line,” he added.
One of the projects they are developing is a fiction focused on the world of soccer and another one aimed at the child audience. The latter is made from the headquarters of Imagina US in New York and is a mix of animation with live action.
López did not want to disclose more details, but he mentioned that soon he will reveal more information. At Natpe, they showed these ideas and three big networks are already interested.
Other projects they are developing are the ones they have announced with Argos: Lord of Money and Hábeas Corpus, that generated strong interested at the market, said López. Many of the productions are aimed at cable and OTT.
Regarding cinema, he informed that the group just finished two films in Cuba, one called Esteban, that has already been shown in a couple of festivals, and another one that is in the post-production stage and will be ready in February.
