PRODU visited the state-of-the-art facilities of the new channel {¡HOLA! TV;www.produ.tv/popup.html?noti=7600} at the Imagina US headquarters in Miami, Florida. The channel has been broadcasting in Latin America for only a month on DIRECTV.During the visit, PRODU spoke with top channel executives: Ignacio Sanz, CEO and general manager; Maggie Salas, Head of Programming and Acquisitions; Raúl García-Diez, VP of Production; and Patrick Ilabaca, Head of Corporate Communications and Creative Services.PRODU also toured the set of OnCinema, a one-hour program on the world of show business hosted by Telemundos Francisco Cáceres, which will premiere in December.During the tour PRODU also had a chance to speak with María José Barraza, Colombian host who recently worked for Caracol TV and now host the original space Mundo ¡HOLA!Since its inception, the channel has been producing some 10 hours of original programming a day, which would translate into about 500 hours per year, a considerable amount for such a young signal. Of this original content, Mundo ¡HOLA!, En Exclusivo, ¡HOLALA!, ¡HOLA! Diario and OnCinema are produced in Miami and Vidas Reales is produced in Spain.The channel just received its first ratings reports, which have been encouraging. With a distribution strategy already in place, Sanz said the channel is evaluating the most efficient option for its advertising sales: hiring a company to represent it or building an in-house sales team.
