Miguel Brailovsky, SVP Content at History and History 2 Latin America, explained that Hernán, made by Dopamine in collaboration with the Spanish production company Onza Entertainment, is the first historical fiction made in Latin America the channel will have, and even though there were previous docufiction experiences, they had not identified a project that could have a relevant story for the region with that production level. “This project gathers both things. It is one of the stories that likely aim for the heart, at historical sensitivity, not only Mexico´s but all Latin America´s, because it is the story of the conquest and has unprecedented production standards in the region, that are the ones we want to see on our screen,” he expressed.

He mentioned that they ventured into historical fiction around two years ago because History is the natural place for this type of contents and they have taken documentaries, realities, competition programs, and currently, there is a trend to position historical fiction as a massive interest category. “Our mission is to make people fall in love with history.”

He explained that they hope to launch it in the second half of November, to coincide with the 500th anniversary of Cortés´ arrival in Mexico. “Obviously, being able to coincide in the anniversary and when everyone is talking about the topic would give it even greater relevance, together with the artistic elements the series already has,” he stated.

Hernán, made up of eight episodes, has an international cast led by Óscar Jaenada, Michel Brown, Dagoberto Gama, Jorge Guerrero, Víctor Clavijo, Almagro San Miguel, and with the debut of Ishbel Bautista.
