A new channel, the fourth one for Grupo SuperCanal from the Dominican Republic, is being set to launch in the U.S. SuperCanal has been on American cable operators grids since 2001, serving the vast Dominican community in the U.S.Marcos Jorge, Executive VP of SuperCanal, announced the news to PRODU last week during the Tepal convention in Punta Cana.Jorge said the new signal will be oriented towards Hispanic families, homemakers and children, and will only carry positive messages. It will be a channel that will only show the good around us, only the good news, he added.Grupo SuperCanal has been a pioneer: in 1982 it launched its first cable system in the Dominican Republic. In 2002 it launched the first Dominican international channel, SuperCanal Caribe, on Time Warner cable in the U.S. In 2007 it added a new signal, Dominican View; and in 2009 it launched Tele El Salvador.
