GolTV to air UEFA Under 19 Championships
GolTV announced the exclusive broadcasting of the UEFA Under 19 (U-19) Championships, July 3-15. The network will air all nine matches, including the final, live on Sunday, July 15 at 2:30pm. The UEFA U-19 Championship follows the Euro 2012 and demonstrates the growing popularity of international soccer.GolTV looks to extend the excitement from Euro 2012, delivering passionate fans the soccer they demand. Many of Europes top current players Fernando Torres, Mario Gómez, Andrés Iniesta and Mesut Ozil have used the UEFA U-19 Championships as a launching pad for their careers, and as the home for real soccer fans, GolTV invites viewers to discover the next European superstars, said Rodrigo Lombello, COO of GolTV.Played annually, the UEFA U-19 Championships match the host country and the top seven teams from previous qualifying rounds in group play, with the top two teams from each group advancing to single-elimination semifinals. Spain will look to defend its 2011 title (and tie England for most all-time U-19 titles), as the other UEFA U-19 2012 participants include Croatia, England, Estonia (host), France, Greece, Portugal and Serbia.
