GolTV acquires rights to broadcast UEFA´s youth, women and Futsal competitions

GolTV announced that it has reached a multi-year agreement with the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) for the exclusive media rights to UEFA’s Youth, Women and Futsal competitions in Canada and USA.GolTV will televise these UEFA competitions through to 2013, highlighting the annual editions of the men and women youth national team European championships at Under-19 and Under-17 levels, the UEFA Women’s Champions League final and the UEFA Futsal Cup, the yearly futsal club competition. In addition, GolTV will also televise selected matches from the 2012 UEFA European Futsal Championship, to be held in Croatia.GolTV’s UEFA telecasts will mark the debut of women’s soccer on the network as well as the introduction of futsal, a fast-paced indoor futbol format, to GolTV viewers.“As GolTV showcases the talent of female futbolistas and quick-footed futsal players for the first time, this represents not only a milestone for the network but an opportunity to engage an even more diverse audience,” said Rodrigo Lombello, COO of GolTV.
