Paul Dempsey, incoming president, Global Markets confirmed Fred Medina as executive vice-president & managing director, Latin America & U.S. Hispanic. Medina will now lead the Latin America and US Hispanic region through a reorganization that will see the business reconfigured from divisional to geographic lines of management. He assumes responsibilities for the P&L and for running all of BBC Worldwide business in Latin America, which will include channels; TV sales; consumer products and production.The reorganization will further increase the focus of the Company on international markets, enabling it to capture future growth opportunities around the world. This means that as of April 2nd 2013, BBC Worldwides existing structure, primarily based around five global divisions, will cease to exist. Instead, P&L ownership and primary commercial accountability will move closer to its customers.Commenting on the appointment, Dempsey said: Weve got big plans to build the fan base for BBC brands all around the world.
