Univision Communications announced that it has named Francisco Arenas VP of Consumer Products for Univision Enterprises. In this role, Arenas will focus on both owned properties as well as third party partners licensing opportunities. He will be based in New York, reporting to Rick Alessandri, SVP, Univision Enterprises.As the clear leader in the Hispanic community, our goal is to leverage the strength of our brands and proprietary content in an effort to develop strategic partnerships with like-minded companies which will enhance the loyalty and trust we have with our consumers. Francisco will play a key role in helping to achieve this goal said Alessandri. Arenas brings more than 12 years of strategic licensing and retail marketing experience. Since 2005, served as senior director, Consumer Products at ESPN, Inc. He also spent time with companies such as Mattel, LEGO and Sesame Workshop, managing their International Consumer Products programs.Univision has a powerful portfolio of brands and established partnerships with Televisa, Zinkia (Pocoyó), Endemol (Mira quién baila) and others that will help accelerate growth by generating new revenue streams for the Company said Arenas.Univision Enterprises, formerly known as the Franchise Development & Strategic Partnership group, focuses on three core businesses: Univision Direct, which develops products and services to directly serve consumers, such as the Univision MasterCard Prepaid Card; Univision Consumer Products, which is focused on licensing; and Live Event Development and Activation.
