Lorenzo Orozco, VP of FOX International Channels Mexico
After MundoFOXs incursion into comedy with the series Familia En Venta, Lorenzo Orozco, VP of FOX International Channels Mexico, told PRODU this is a genre the channel needed and said the company is committed to continue developing original content.MundoFOX is Latin American in that it features dramatic series, but now this type of comedy strengthens our programming. Were focused on the market and not the genre, but our channels were in need of comedy. We will continue beefing up the block, because the channel is growing, said Orozco. The executive said original production is an important factor in its programming, because we had produced in the U.S. series such as Modern Family and brought them over, but now we want to produce in Mexico and Latin American for the region. We know we can produce good content that can be successful internationally. He added the channel has been well received in the mid-tier and extended packages it is currently carried, but we are supporting cable operators so that people dont stay with basic packages and get more cable.”Lastly, Orozco said the company would continue to look for partnerships with production houses, because they create great opportunities and great ideas. With the support of these companies, which know the market better than we do, we can create great content. We still dont know what will happen with Argos; it will all depends on how Dos Lunas works.
