Alfonso Herrera plays the leading role in the series that premieres September 30th in the U.S. Hispanic market
In an effort to finding new audiences and creating new content, ESPN introduced on August 25th its first series, {El Diez;www.produ.tv/popup.html?noti=5357&ID=53787&link=av/GeneralMotors-0811/ElDiez.mp4}. Initially, it will premiere in Mexico and Central America, and on September 30th, in the U.S. Hispanic market through ESPN Deportes.The company is aiming towards this type of project. Its not just about events and news; we want to give sports a new spin. The series deals with soccer and everything thats around it. Its a good project for the audience, said Fernando Cervantes, Marketing Manager of ESPN México. He added that with this product, they are trying to reach a broader target. This series is for young people eager for new content, he said.Similarly, Tim Bunnell, Senior VP of Programming of ESPN Internacional, said the signal is looking to expand its content in the region. As per our programming alignment, we need something broader. We have a history of original programs in the U.S. The idea is to expand our business in Latin America and U.S. Hispanic with new products and shows, and El diez is the first effort toward that goal, he added.El Diez tells the story of a Mexican soccer player who seeks to enter the international stage. It is a production of Animus Entertainment and Época Films. Aside from Mexico, Central America and U.S. Hispanic, there are plans to launch the series in South America and Europe.
