Entravision Communications Corporation announced it achieved its highest ratings ever for the 2010 Latin Grammy Awards on its stations located in Nielsen metered and local people metered (LPM) markets. The show was held on November 11, 2010 from 8 to 11pm, and broadcast on Entravision’s Univision network affiliate stations. The awards show garnered a 17% increase in ratings over 2009 and a 40% increase over 2008 in the cross-market ratings weighted average for TV households during the time slot. Four of Entravision’s stations achieved their highest ratings ever for the program, including its stations in Las Vegas (KINC), which had the highest rating among all Entravision metered markets at 6.1 and had a 20% increase over 2009; San Diego (KBNT) which had a 19% increase to 3.7; Orlando (WVEN), which saw an 8% increase over their 2009 ratings to 4.1; and Hartford (WUVN), which saw a 109% ratings increase to 2.3.“The record ratings success of the Latin Grammys is a further testament to the popularity and reach of our television assets. The 2011 census is expected to demonstrate the continued rapid growth of the Latino market in both population and purchasing power. We are well positioned to benefit from these trends given the strength of our stations, which are located in some of the most dynamic Hispanic markets in the U.S,” said Walter F. Ulloa, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Entravision.
