Diego Lerner, president of The Walt Disney Company Latin America, announced that Star+ will be launched on August 31, which will include all the content of ESPN: series, animated comedies, films, documentaries; regional and international Star original productions, and exclusive content. In addition, it will feature original local productions with talent from across the region.

“Star+ will deliver a never-before-seen personalized experience and expand our connection with diverse audiences. The strength of the content, which will include all of ESPN, will make Star+ a unique proposition, relevant, with its own identity and weight, establishing by itself as an independent digital service from Disney+,” Lerner said.

For Lerner, Star+ will represent a service complementing Disney+ and will consolidate the presence of The Walt Disney Company in the Latin American streaming market. “We will also reinforce our commitment -sustained for more than 20 years- to develop, produce and offer original local content that goes with what consumers throughout the region like, producing original content with production houses and talents in the region to tell stories that will engage the Latino public. We will do it through different genres that will allow addressing original fiction stories, relevant social and historical issues and of general interest.”

Some of the content that will be available in all seasons, including the premieres of the series This Is Us, The Walking Dead, American Horror story, Mayans M.C., Pose, Outlander, and Genius. Also iconic titles like Grey’s Anatomy, 24, Homeland, Modern Family, How I Met Your Mother, The X Files; original productions like Big Sky, Love Victor; animated comedies such as The Simpsons and Family Guy, and classic movies and blockbusters.

Also original productions from the region such as Santa Evita, No Fue mi Culpa, and the third season of Impuros.
