Discovery U.S. Hispanic announced its highest rated semester on record for its portfolio. According to Nielsen data, Discoverys U.S. Hispanic channels grew +10% year over year (YOY) and +8% from the previous semester.In the first semester of the year, Discovery Familia experienced growth of +60% YOY among persons 18-49 during prime time; this, due to the successful results obtained in first and second quarter where the network delivered high ratings. In addition, during second quarter, Discovery Familia had a +75% YOY growth in late prime time among women 18-49, positioning the channel as #3 in that demographic segment among Spanish language cable networks.Discovery Familias success from January to June was driven by the popularity of shows like: Kilos mortales, Adivina el diagnóstico, Vívala o véndala and Bakery boss.Also during the first semester, Discovery en Español remained as the #1 Spanish language cable network in late fringe among its core target of persons aged 18-49. The top rated programs for Discovery en Español this semester were: Fuga casi perfecta, FBI en el siglo XXI, Mexicánicos and Discovery a fondo.”After the unprecedented success achieved in 2014, we faced the challenge of maintaining our channel’s high level of performance.
