Damaris Valero, founder and producer of Animus Productions, just launched her first book dedicated to branded entertainment, making the most of her 12 year experience with her business Animus and more than 15 closed agreements in the area of branded entertainment. The book, titled Branded Entertainment, Dealmaking Strategies and Techniques for Industry Professionals, will be officially presented by Valero in the framework of the MIPTV in Cannes, France. The work is centered on how the business process for closing agreements in branded entertainment is, something Valero and her company Animus are pioneers in and practically owners of the category. Valero said, “There was no literature to explain how all this works”. The book is written in a way that is comprehensible both for students as well as for executives in the industry.Valero says that the idea of the book emerged from the clients: the advertising brands, agencies and channels which suggested the executive to write a book explaining how it all works. “I have found that when I make agreements there are a lot of conversations, but a great deal of ignorance on how to develop the business. They are agreements that take time, sometimes from 9 to 18 months, from the start to the execution. There are a lot of entities involved.” The book is on sale in iTunes, Amazon, Kobo, Barnes & Noble, and with the book’s publishing company, J. Ross Publishing. She indicated that the 1st of July, Animus will celebrate 12 years of operations.
