Roz Parker de Program Buyer
The main goal of the ProgramBuyer platform, created at the beginning of 2019, is to connect content buyers and sellers in an increasingly fragmented market. The platform has over 120,000 hours of content in all genres, including drama, factual, children’s, cinema, sports, shorts, and formats. The platform is free for buyers, whereas content sellers are charged a minimum, monthly list rate that varies according to the number of hours that are commercialized on the site. Prices start at US$70 a month.
“The cancellation of markets leads ProgramBuyer to become a key tool for the television industry to connect buyers and sellers in a digital space, 365 days a year. It is a convenient tool for buyers and commissioning editors to look for and filter both complete content and content in development from multiple international distributors,” explains Roz Parker, founding partner of the company.
They have more than 160 international distributors subscribed to the platform, which vary in size and cover all the territories.
For content sellers, ProgramBuyer is a marketing tool. “The platform promotes the content and the brand of each distributor on our list of 4,500 buyers regularly,” she added.
She also mentioned that, according to the platform statistics, the drama is the most demanded in Latin America, followed by formats and entertainment.
She emphasized that when buyers find the content they are interested in, they do the direct follow-up with the seller, thus keeping the direct relation between broadcasters and distributors.
