Panel Embracing Content Distribution Environment On Linear

For Mark Lieberman, senior adviser at Vidgo, the Hispanic community represents a great opportunity, but it needs the best channel package to connect this “fragmented” segment. Kerin Handal, Director of Multicultural Content Alliances at Comcast Cable, agrees with this opportunity and believes that it is a “great moment to exploit our superpower: bilingualism and bicultural,” As for Kevin Cross, Distribution Executive of Condista, “content aggregation has opened a door to new sources of income where the opportunities are multiple. It’s a great time for this industry.”

The three executives participated in the panel “Distribution discussion: Embracing the evolving content distribution environment on linear and streaming” at the 20th Annual Hispanic Television Summit, held this Wednesday at ETC. Venues on Madison Avenue in New York.

Luis Torres-Bohl, president of Castalia Communications, emphasized that the linear content industry represents a trillion dollars, with a great future and that they want to continue being part of it. “People are not going to consume less content, but more specific to their needs,” he said.

Both Cross and Handal highlighted the key role of technology within the Hispanic market’s linear and streaming offerings with innovations such as the Spanish language programming guide and voice remote control.

Cross pointed out that the market is aiming to adjust the SVOD and AVOD-FAST models between this year and next.
