(Maribel Ramos-Weiner). According to Kim Taylor, VP of Multicultural Marketing at Comcast, the 2010 Census will give her more arguments for a greater budget for multicultural efforts. The statement was issued during the panel discussion Con Census On Reaching Future on the second day of the Florida Cable Forum, organized by CTAM Florida.Joining Taylor in the panel discussions were Jubba Seyyid, Senior Director of Programming at TV One; Susan Solano, Senior VP of Marketing at Telemundo; Joseph Jerome Francia, VP and Head of International Operations of GMA Network; and Tsunehiko Takeuchi, Director of Affiliate Sales at TV Japan. The African-American, Hispanic, and Asian segments were represented on the panel.The panel agreed on the notion that the multicultural pay-TV business has grown rapidly in the past five years. Taylor said Hispanics are the largest consumers of high-speed internet and PPV. There are a lot of areas of business to grow in the Hispanic market, she added.The talks also concluded that the tier system for locating Hispanic channels is working well so far. Telemundos Solano cited El Paquetazo of Time Warner Cable as one example.
