Comcast names Neil Smit CEO of Comcast Cable Communications
Comcast Corporation named Neil Smit Chief Executive Officer of Comcast Cable Communications. Smit, who also serves as president of Comcast Cable and is responsible for all aspects of the companys cable business, joined Comcast in March 2010. He reports to Brian L. Roberts, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Comcast Corporation.Neil has done a phenomenal job. He has driven innovation, improved the customer experience, increased the speed of the introduction of new products, and has expanded our company into new opportunities for profitable growth, said Roberts.Smit joined Comcast from Charter Communications where he served as CEP and director from 2005-2010. Prior to Charter, he was president of Time Warners America Online Access Business. He also served at AOL as EVP, Member Services, and COO of MapQuest. Before that, was a regional president with Nabisco and served in a number of management positions at Pillsbury. For five and a half years, he served on active duty with the Navy SEALS Teams and retired from the service as a Lieutenant Commander.
