César Conde, president of Univision Networks, told PRODU in New York that this year had been one of expansion: the company launched three new channels now reaching 12 networks, it announced an English-language channel along with Disney and ABC which will be the first within the Univision group, it created the digital platform Uvideos, and it re-launched TeleFutura under the name UniMás. Conde emphasized that the announcement to launch an English-language news network geared toward Latinos was a historic one for Univision. He said that theres a lot of enthusiasm from the side of the executives at Disney and Univision, and also from the market itself, as its a product that has been anticipated by the Hispanic population in the U.S.
