During the opening of the 10th annual Hispanic TV Summit in New York celebrated on Wednesday Oct. 3, César Conde, president of Univision Networks held a conversation with Melissa Grego, executive director of B&C about the Hispanic television business. In the discussion, Conde mentioned that the company would be launching the channel Joint Venture in English with ABC News, as well as with another channel for its portfolio of networks. In respect to the joint venture with ABC News, Conde said that the company will move forward with a new digital piece for the project this month.As far as what aspects could possibly be bettered within Hispanic television, Conde indicated that one of the worst risks is to stay in the same place, and that its necessary to take educated risks. He said that the Cinderella mentality is fundamental to work better. During the 10th anniversary celebration of the Hispanic TV Summit, numerous awards were presented. The Award for Outstanding Achievement in Hispanic Television went to the journalist and anchor of Noticiero Telemundo, José Diaz-Balart. The Award for Leadership in Hispanic TV went to Comcast and was received by Marcien Jenckes, senior VP and general manager of Entertainment Video and Services for the company.
