Carlos Vasallo, owner of Hispanic channels Cine Estelar and Cine Nostalgia which recently signed exclusivity deals with DirecTV Más for the U.S. Hispanic market – announced at Natpe that they are undergoing a phase of distribution expansion with U.S. pay-TV operators.The channels are also being distributed through the Verizon platform.Vasallo owns an extensive library of Mexican films for the Hispanic market: attractive programming genres for each channel with low repetition rates, the rights to distribute the films on all platforms, and a variety of titles.That is the winning combination that has allowed Cine Estelar and Cine Nostalgia to be positioned among the 10 most viewed Spanish-language channels in the U.S. through DirecTV, and be sought out by many other distributors, said Vasallo.He also pointed out that his network VasalloVisión is growing and is currently nearing a 14% reach in U.S. Hispanic homes.
