Carlos San José appointed VP and general manager of Univision´s Chicago stations

Before joining Univision, San José served as the vice president of national Hispanic sales at Citadel Media

Univision Communications Inc. announced today the appointment of Carlos San José to the position of vice president and general manager of Univision Television Group’s Chicago stations. San José will oversee all aspects of Univision Network affiliate WGBO and TeleFutura affiliate WXFT, including sales, news, marketing, online initiatives and community outreach. San José will report to Ramón Pineda, senior vice president and regional director, Univision Television Group.“We are thrilled to have a veteran media executive with over 25 years experience in both Spanish- and English-language radio and television on board. His track record of exceptional network management, sales and brand leadership, partnered with his all-embracing expertise of the U.S. Hispanic community made him a clear choice to oversee our successful stations in the Chicago market,” said Pineda.“This is an exciting opportunity to be charged with managing two stations in this incredibly important market. I look forward to taking on this challenge,” added San José.San José brings to the Univision Television Group over two and a half decades of experience in various aspects of sales, management and brand leadership in the U.S. Hispanic market. Before joining Univision, San José served as the vice president of national Hispanic sales at Citadel Media, previously ABC Radio Networks.
